New Mexico Free Range Gemsbok Oryx Hunting with Aaron Bauer
Spot and Stalk Outdoors

I highly recommend this hunt. It is reasonable in cost and is unique and extremely hard.

These folks go out of their way to please their clients and are very nice to deal with.

Horns are 36 inches each. Longest shot I have ever taken. Used my friends 28 Nosler long range gun.
Used Railroad Tracks as a steady rest and dropped him in his tracks at 460 yards just before dark on the evening of  the third day of the 4 day hunt.

December 13th - 16th, 2019

I was hoping for a muzzleloader shot but wasn't happening. These Oryx are very wary and the terrain is open. Difficult to get into any kind of good position. Finally took this one running at several hundred yards up high on this mountainous area. Horn is 31 3/4 inch long. I understand there was a second horn that was broken, but I hit the back of the the head while running and blew the short one off and have to hold this one in place.

Aaron thought he would drag the critter down the mountain to dress and quarter for packing out. Too heavy, didn't move too far.

Pretty hard to put the sneak on anything here.

Hunting is conducted on a private ranch in Southwest New Mexico on a private ranch off the White Sands Missile Range with over the counter Ranch Tag.
